Amy Moy - President

Amy Moy is the Associate Vice President, Public Affairs, at Planned Parenthood Golden Gate (PPGG). Amy oversees the agency’s political advocacy and grassroots activities. Amy is also the Director of PPGG’s sister organization, Planned Parenthood Golden Gate Action Fund, an organization committed to public education on reproductive health and freedom issues and electing pro-choice candidates. In addition, Amy was a Bay Area campaign leader in the fights to defeat propositions 73 and 85. Amy also served as Policy Chair for SFWPC in 2007.

A long-time advocate for social justice, Amy has worked to promote nonviolent conflict resolution in the Middle East, end the Chinese occupation of Tibet, and advance the rights of women and girls throughout the world. In addition to her board membership at SFWPC, Amy is currently on the Board of Exhale, a national after-abortion talkline. She is also an advisory board member of Urban Sprouts, a school-based garden project in San Francisco. Originally from New York City, Amy received a B.S. in Communications from Ithaca College.

Saskia Traill - Vice President

A longtime political activist, Saskia Traill has played a major role in a number of candidate and initiative campaigns. In her role as Program Manager at the Insight Center for Community Economic Development, Saskia leads a national initiative to build strong systems to support children and families. She currently serves on the public policy committee of the Society for Research on Adolescence. She is proud to have served as Endorsements Chair in 2006 and President of SFWPC in 2007.

A London native, Saskia later spent time in Baltimore and New York. After earning a B.A. from Columbia University and a Masters and Ph.D. from Stanford University, Saskia was awarded a research fellowship in 2001 at the Stanford Institute for Research on Women and Gender.

Giselle Barry - Treasurer

Giselle Barry has served as Treasurer of SFWPC since 2005. Giselle is currently the Deputy Communications Director for Mayor Gavin Newsom. Prior to joining the mayor’s office, Giselle was a social science researcher, focusing on the fields of criminal justice and behavioral health. She has worked in research and evaluation for the W. Haywood Burns Institute, National Council on Crime and Delinquency, the Public Health Institute, and as a consultant for several federal departments and bureaus. She helped design and analyze adolescent health policy for the Charles and Helen Schwab Foundation and assisted California Assemblywoman Wilma Chan draft legislation on a statewide system of care for youth with substance abuse treatment needs. She has co-authored several publications in the area of juvenile justice system reform, and serves as a consultant and technical assistance provider to jurisdictions around the nation who are implementing system reforms for youth-serving agencies.

Giselle also served two years as a member of the AmeriCorps program and worked on several San Francisco ballot initiative campaigns, including as the policy director for the November 2004 San Francisco Proposition F campaign. Giselle attended the University of California, Berkeley where she studied English and Public Policy.

Annie Eagan - Fundraising Chair

Annie Eagan is an independent fundraising consultant focusing on political fundraising. Her clients range from congressional to statewide to state legislative candidates. Annie also raises money for political action committees (PACs) and ballot measures. Annie Eagan Consulting prides itself on their skill to tailor design each finance campaign according to the attributes of a ballot measure, PAC, or candidate and the dynamics of their unique election.

Prior to her career in fundraising, Annie worked for Senator Dianne Feinstein in San Francisco and then in Washington, D.C. as part of the Senator’s legislative staff. Annie is a native of Oakland, and currently lives in Jack London Square.

Alex Krasov - Public Relations Chair

Alex Krasov has served as Public Relations Chair for SFWPC since 2007. Alex is an account executive for Storefront Political Media. Prior to joining Storefront Political Media, Alex researched policy dealing with Eastern Europe for the Democratic staff of the House International Relations Committee, fundraised at Fraioli & Associates in Washington D.C., and organized in the field for the Iowa Democratic Party during the 2004 presidential campaign. She started by coordinating media outreach at the Government Affairs Department at the Port of Oakland. Alex served as the 2006-2007 Communications Director of the California College Democrats. Alex also freelanced in the San Francisco Bay Area, publishing articles in most major newspapers including the San Francisco Chronicle and the San Jose Mercury News. She worked as a writer for KPIX/CBS 5 Eyewitness News.

Heidi Sieck

Heidi Sieck - Policy Chair

Heidi Sieck is a member of the Emergency Planning and Disaster Response Team for the City and County of San Francisco and serves at the Logistics Section Chief and Plans Section Chief for emergency response. She is also a member of the Phoenix 2.0 Project Team, the San Francisco Post-Disaster Recovery Initiative.

Previously, Heidi was the Project Director for Mayor Gavin Newsom’s award winning San Francisco 311 Customer Service Center, a $20 million construction, technology and transformational government service project consolidating the services of the City’s 2500 listed telephone numbers and 65 city agencies into a single, state-of-the art call center. As a result of that work, Heidi received a Municipal Fiscal Advisory Committee (MFAC) Award for Public Managerial Excellence 2007. In 2004, she established and administered Mayor Newsom’s SFStat performance management program.

Heidi’s background includes public and private sector work in the area of telecommunications regulatory policy and compliance for various companies including AT&T Wireless, XO Communications, and Urban Media both in Washington, D.C. and San Francisco where she collaborated with the Federal Communications Commission, California Public Utilities Commission, and congressional staff.

Heidi is a 2006 Graduate of the Emerge Campaign Training Program for democratic women. She started her political career in the office of U.S. Senator Bob Kerrey and has worked on three presidential campaigns and many local races.

Heidi is the Co-Chair of the San Francisco Women’s Policy Summit and service as the President of Brava! For Women in the Arts and Brava! Theater Center in the Mission. She is a Past Board President of Women in Telecommunications. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in Transformative Leadership at the California Institute of Integral Studies and has a B.A. cum laude in Communications and Art History from the University of Nebraska where she was a member of the Innocent’s Society (top 13 graduating seniors) and Phi Beta Kappa.

Frances Hsieh - Endorsements Chair

Frances is the Deputy Director of Public Affairs for NARAL Pro-Choice California. She has an extensive background in legislative and political affairs on both the local level and California-wide.  Prior to joining NARAL, Frances served as a District Representative for State Senator Carole Migden and has been a legislative aide to then-Supervisor, now Assemblywoman Fiona Ma.  She has over 10 years of electoral and political campaign experience, from field work for local ballot initiatives to strategic direction for candidates for local and state offices. She is currently the Endorsements Chair for the San Francisco Women’s Political Caucus and serves on the Executive Board of the Coalition of Asian American Government Employees.  Frances attended the University of California, San Diego, earning a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Russian and Soviet Studies.

Alana Conner, PhD - Newsletter Chair

Alana Conner, PhD is a social science writer and editor whose specialty is cultural differences in decision making and health. She received her doctorate in social psychology from Stanford University and her postdoctoral certificate in psychology and medicine from the University of California, San Francisco. Her popular writings on culture, psychology, and health have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Static, and other venues. She is currently the senior editor of the Stanford Social Innovation Review and co-host of the podcast channel Social Innovation Conversations. When she isn’t working her day job or stumping for gender equity, she’s writing a book about how cultures make people and people make cultures.

Mircalla Wozniak - Membership Records Chair

Mircalla Wozniak is a native San Franciscan who prides herself on having gone door-to-door for Democratic candidates in such diverse locations as Huron, SD, New Iberia, LA, and Reading, PA – just to name a few.

As an associate with Staton Hughes, Mircalla does research, strategy, and message development for candidates and progressive organizations. Prior to returning to California, she produced Democratic candidate television and radio spots at Murphy Putnam Media. In the 2003 cycle, Mircalla managed two state races, one in Bayonne, New Jersey, another in Woodbridge, Virginia. She’s also managed PAC events for the American Council of Engineering Companies, worked at Struble Oppel Eichenbaum coordinating dozens of campaigns’ media buys, was a field organizer in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and tweaked voter and finance databases at Aristotle, Inc.

Mircalla has a BA in Political Communication from The George Washington University. She is a founder and co-chair of the Good Ol’ Girls – a women’s political and social networking group and is a San Francisco Urban and Planning Association member. Mircalla has been a guest lecturer for the Junior Statesmen of America and mentors younger political operatives through the New Leadership Council. She lives with her husband in the Mission district.

Sueanne McNeil Biotti - Advisory Council Liasion

Sueanne McNeil Biotti has served on the SFWPC Board of Directors since 2003 and is a founding member of the organization. She served as Endorsement Co-Chair in 2003, Political Training Chair in 2004, and as President for 2005 and 2006.

Sueanne has a degree in Political Science and a minor in Speech and Communications: Political Rhetoric from San Francisco State University, where she competed nationally as a Policy Debater specializing in Presidential and Congressional Politics, Racial and Gender Social Movements, and U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and South East Asia.

Sueanne also serves on the Campaign Advisory Team (CAT) for Emerge California, an organization that fields and helps Democratic women candidates. She recently retired from the national public opinion research and polling firm, Fairbank, Maslin and Maullin and Associates (FMM&A). Sueanne is a fourth generation Southern Californian and currently lives in San Francisco with her husband Chris Biotti and daughter Samantha Biotti.

Mera Granberg - Membership Outreach Chair

Mera Granberg has also served as Programs Chair in 2007 for SFWPC. In her profressional career, she has launched companies in the non-profit and business sectors. She was the founding executive director of the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation creating a public-private partnership to bring private philanthropic support to health in San Francisco. During her tenure at the Foundation she worked to create a pediatric emergency room and the Trauma Recovery Center aimed at providing support to victims of violence.

Mera went on to work in technology leading a national sales program for Endymion Systems, Inc. before leaving technology to live and work in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan.

Mera has produced several short films and worked to expand Cinefemme, an organization dedicated to forwarding women in filmmaking. She currently sits on the board of directors of the New Progressive Coalition.

Mera was student body president of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon where she earned a bachelor’s degree in history. She currently lives in San Francisco.

Debra Walker - Program Chair

Debra Walker is an artist-painter, arts activist, LGBT activist, tenant/housing activist, San Francisco Commissioner for the Department of Building Inspection. In 2007, she was awarded the “Woman of the Year” award by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. In June 2008, Debra was re-elected to the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee.

Debra has served on the board and as President of the advisory Board to Open Studios San Francisco. She is also past CEO and board member of Developing Environments which created in 1972, is one of the City’s longest standing artist communities. She served on the inaugural board of SOUNDSAFE, a non-profit organization formed to promote affordable studio space for Musicians in San Francisco. In addition to working on arts issues, she currently is involved locally on planning/development issues, arts education issues, and is working statewide on arts/education funding, as well as development, planning, and affordable housing issues.

Debra exhibits locally, nationally, & internationally. Her paintings have been commissioned for several performance, dance and arts events in San Francisco. Debra has mounted dozens of solo exhibitions of her work throughout the U.S. Her work has been included in scores of group shows, including one at the Triton Museum in San Jose. Her work is included in the current State Senate exhibit at the California State Capital, and in hundreds or private collections. She lives and works in San Francisco since 1981.
